Amalfi Coast: How travel can inspire your interiors
29 July, 2019
I travelled to the Amalfi Coast in 2018. Yes, I was one of those annoying people on instagram incessantly posting pictures of their amazing European holiday. And now here we are a year later, in the midst of winter here in Sydney (albeit a warm one).
This got me thinking about my trip and just how beautiful the Amalfi Coast was. I always feel quite inspired about my work and my home when I return from a trip. I love seeing how people in different countries live and, for me at least, a big part of that is design and decoration.
I’m not much of a souvenir person, but I like to pick up a few local homewares from the places I visit. On the Amalfi Coast I found some gorgeous ceramics which I was able to bring home and use in my own kitchen.
I’ve created this moodboard inspired by Positano. This Mediterranean design style is proving quite popular at the moment. Think brilliant blues and crisp whites. Lots of amazing tiles. Fun and colourful ceramics. Rows and rows of beach umbrellas. And sunset hues with an Aperol Spritz in hand.
