Looking for kitchen design inspiration? Then read on! I truly believe that the kitchen IS the heart of the home. It’s where we gather to prepare food for family and friends. Where we share news of how our day was. And where we hang for coffee with a friend who drops by to say hi.

It’s also true that renovating a kitchen can be a nervewracking experience for the uninitiated. It’s understandable, given the cost and permanency involved in choosing cabinetry, benchtops, tiles, and so on.

KITCHEN DESIGN INSPIRATION

I’ve gathered up some of my current favourite kitchen design inspiration. Each of these looks is quite different, but they are all stunning. The layouts are all very functional and the selection of finishes and fittings are amazing.

First up is the Malvern House kitchen by architects Kennedy Nolan. This kitchen shows how a limited colour and material palette can be a very chic choice. I love the way they have laid the marble as tiles in the splashback. The various shades of grey create just enough interest. And the circular window looking out onto the pool helps break up all the straight lines.

There’s a real warmth and friendliness to the kitchen in Capertee Valley Cottage, created by Studio Esteta. They have kept things simple with rich timber tones, white cabinetry and stone benchtops and floors. It’s all befitting of this unassuming country cottage in rural NSW.

And lastly, I couldn’t resist including this kitchen by Lynne Bradley Interiors. This colourful kitchen proves that you don’t always have to play it safe when it comes to kitchen design. If you’re a colour lover, then why not use some more daring shades in your kitchen. I love the combination of the green cabinetry and the pink marble benchtops.
