Jamie Durie is one of Australia’s original renovation reality TV trailblazers who has carved out a successful career in design, furniture, landscape and entertainment. In this episode of The Find it. Style it. Podcast, interior stylist and founder of Find it. Style it. Lauren Keenan talks to Jamie Durie about his TV career, his success in the US, his passion for the natural landscape and the environment and his beautiful furniture ranges. He’s hosted TV shows including The Outdoor Room on Seven, the original series of The Block in Bondi and Channel Nine’s Backyard Blitz, which was produced by Australian TV legend Don Burke. You know, we won a Logie every year for six consecutive careers,” he said. “But then moving into The Block was a whole other chapter in my career and it was after doing two seasons of The Block when it first began that I got a tap on the shoulder from Oprah and my US career started and I haven’t looked back since.”   You make your own luck and Jamie Durie has worked hard to build a big TV career in the United States hosting shows including The Outdoor Room and Outback Nation plus he’s appeared on dozens more well known programs including The Today Show on NBC and The Oprah Winfrey Show. He’s an accomplished horticulturist and landscape designer, winning awards all over the world for his work including a gold medal at the world famous Chelsea Flower Show.
