HOTELS TO INSPIRE YOUR HOME

28 February, 2016

I don’t know about you, but one of the things I love most about planning holidays is the part where I get to research hotels. There are two things I look for when choosing a hotel. I either go for a super charged version of my own casual luxe style, for that home away from home feeling. Or, I choose something a bit more ‘out there’ just for the experience of trying something really different.   Winter trends 2016 (1)   It can be great fun to take inspiration from hotels when you’re decorating your own home. Below are a few of my current favourites. They are all quite different, but equally lovely. What do you think? Which hotel interior could inspire your own home? If you’d like help creating a hotel vibe in your home, drop me a line. I’d love to work on something special for you.   Hotel Palisade, Sydney I love the way this hotel perfectly blends old and new. It pays respect to the history of the building, while introducing contemporary finishes. I am lusting after those pink leather sofas in the hotel’s Henry Deane restaurant. Kudos to designer Sibella Court for this transformation. In the guestrooms textured concrete is paired with bright pops of colour and lush linens, while in the public spaces and dining areas greenery reigns supreme. To me this has a very personal, eclectic feel, like you could be staying at a friend’s house. If your friend had amazing taste. Designed by Black & Spiro is features lots of playful patterns and lovely blue and white palette. I love that the designers Arent&Pyke were unafraid of using colour in many areas of the hotel – like the bright yellow sofas. Yet it still feels soft and inviting, because they have kept many of the other design elements quite refined.
