natural cleaning for the home

In this day and age we should all be looking for the best natural cleaning products for our homes. There are so many sustainable products available now. They clean your home effectively and have the added benefit of being nicer to the environment.

I made a promise to myself that in 2020 I would make our household more environmentally friendly. We’re now using a food scraps bin. We’ve significantly cut back on the plastic we bring into our home. And I have also been looking for the best natural cleaning products to keep my home sparkling fresh.

Here are some of my favourite sustainable cleaning products. None of these recommendations are sponsored. I just really like the products and believe in the companies that sell them.

Australian made eco-laundry detergent, Dirt has it all. It’s cheaper per load than the supermarket brands. The smell is amazing and it’s made from 100% biodegradable ingredients. And the packaging is aluminium. I’ve recently started using it and am super impressed with how well it cleans my clothes.

Biome sells a huge range of the best natural cleaning products you could ever need. You’ll love their cleaning items for the kitchen. Think timber and plant bristle brushes and plastic-free sponges. You’d be surprised how easily plastic can creep into your kitchen. Biome has a sustainable solution for every household task.

Put your hand up if you’ve ever almost given yourself an asthma attack while cleaning the bathroom? Yes! Me too! Not only are the chemical fumes bad for you, but they are also bad for the environment. And many bathroom cleaning products contain nasty micro-plastics that end up in our oceans.

And that’s why I love Koala Eco so much. Their natural bathroom cleaning products are the best. They have amazing native Australian ingredients, and the best part is – they actually work! Look out for the Multi-purpose Bathroom Cleaner and the glass cleaner.

Has this post inspired you to try some more natural cleaning options in your home? I hope so! Remember, it’s actually easier than you might think to go green at home. These are just some of the amazing local brands doing great things in this space. So get involved. You’ll feel good about it and you’ll be helping our planet.

And if you’d like to talk some more about creating a more sustainable home, then drop me a line. It’s something I’m really focussing on this year!
